R-DAS FLIGHTS
AED R-DAS FLIGHTS - OR HOW TO RETURN YOUR ELECTRONICS TO THE GROUND, GENTLY
To date, my AED R-DAS's have been flown on 24 rocket launches that I can remember having logged; 22 of the launches were my personal flights, and 2 in which the R-DAS was used on MARS team project rocket launches. 2 of the flights carried both the R-DAS and a G-Wiz LC Deluxe Altimeter/Accelerometer, and 3 of the flights carried both the R-DAS and a Blacksky Research ALTACC-2A Altimeter / Accelerometer, to ensure that the data was accurate (If 2 dis-similar altitude logging pieces of equipment give similar results, then it is less likely that the results are innaccurate)
On 2 flights, the deviation between the altitudes measured by the R-DAS and G-Whiz LC Deluxe, was well within acceptable limits. On one of the other flights, the R-DAS was used in a boosted dart along with an ALTACC and an IAX-96, with the G-Wiz LC Deluxe in the booster. Again, the deviation between the units was small. On one of the other flights, the R-DAS didn't function correctly both before and after the launch, so the data was not of much use.
