AED R-DAS CLASSIC FLIGHT COMPUTER VISUAL GUIDE

The following pictorial guide, provides an overview of where the main features on the AED R-DAS Classic circuit board are located.

	R-DAS Classic Main Power Switch

R-DAS Classic Beeper - The R-DAS Classic Beeper is a piezoelectric transducer type beeper.

	R-DAS Classic Main Output Terminals - these 2 terminals are used to connect an igniter which initiates main recovery deployment. The terminal screws are unscrewed with a flat blade screwdriver, the igniter wires are placed into the terminal blocks, and the terminal screws are screwed tight.

R-DAS Classic Drogue Output Terminals - these 2 terminals are used to connect an igniter which initiates drogue recovery deployment. The terminal screws are unscrewed with a flat blade screwdriver, the igniter wires are placed into the terminal blocks, and the terminal screws are screwed tight.

	R-DAS Classic J1 and J2 igniter Current Jumpers - these jumpers enable the current through the drogue and main igniters to be limited. When no jumper is attached, a regulated current of 1 Amp flows through the outputs. When a jumper is attached (i.e. the connection is shorted), the current flow is not limited, and more than 1 Amp can flow through the terminals (the only current limits being set by the resistance of the igniter and ignition circuit).

R-DAS Classic J4 jumper (breakwire) - the R-DAS Classic J4 jumper is used to enable or disable the breakwire triggering method instead of the G-switch triggering method. With standard G-switch triggering, a jumper is connected to J4 (i.e. J4 is shorted).

	R-DAS Classic CPU - the CPU used to power the R-DAS Classic is a Philips 80C522 CPU. The CPU is clocked at 11.0952 MHz.

R-DAS Classic EEPROM - the R-DAS Classic EEPROM is a removable 512 kB Electrically Erasable Progammable ROM. The use of removable EEPROMs allows several launches with the same R-DAS whilst just removing an EEPROM from the R-DAS and placing another one in its place between launches. This also allows different configurations to be loaded onto different EEPROMS.

	R-DAS Classic Pressure Sensor - The R-DAS Classic Pressure Sensor is a Motorola PMXS4100A, an 8-pin, surface mount pressure sensor. The MPXS4100A has a range of 20 kiloPascals to 105 kiloPascals, and a resolution of 0.09 kiloPascals.
