BRAINSTORMING

The space concepts page is a carry over from my original web pages, when I placed some of my mad and not so mad space ideas on a web page for some fellow space industry colleagues to look at.

The areas I have looked at have included zero point energy drives, quantum tunneling drives, diametric drives, disjunction drives, Alcubierre Warp drives, Krasnikov Tubes and a few that are, if at all possibly, even more speculative. It is certainly a fascinating area to investigate, and given boundaries are there to be pushed, I think it is important that more people investigate these areas of future possible space transportation.

Zero Point Energy Drive

I did some work on an esoteric concept which examines the use of harnessing zero point energy via the Casimir effect, for a spacecraft propulsion system. Currently, practical rocket propulsion work I am involved with has got in the way of further progress on this.

Quantum Tunnelling Drive

A concept in which a propulsion system based on quantum tunnelling is postulated. This really was very speculative, and I need to sit down and spend some more time on this when I get chance. As with the previous concept, currently, practical rocket propulsion work I am involved with has got in the way of further progress on this.

The British Interplanetary Society has a long history of pushing boundaries in terms of space concepts, and it is very encouraging to see their support for this area of research.
